INDW vs ENGW: In a last over-thriller against hosts England, India women's team held their nerve as they registered a 4-run win in the semi-final of Commonwealth Games 2022. The Indian team has cemented their place in the finals and have ensured a gold/silver medal. 

Defending a target of 165, Indian bowlers kept picking up wickets despite one or two important partnerships from England. For India, Sneh Rana picked up 2 wickets while Deepti Sharma grabbed 1 wicket as the English team conceded 3 run-outs. 

Captain Natalie Sciver was the top scorer with 41 runs off 43 balls. Opener Danielle Wyatt contributed with 35 runs off 27 balls while Amy Jones scored 31 runs off 24 balls. In the end, England were halted to 160/6 in 20 overs. 

In the first innings, Smriti Mandhana scored a scintillating fifty while Jemimah Rodrigues provided a responsible finish to help India to 164/5 in 20 overs against England. 

Mandhana provided a thunderous opening as he completed her fifty off just 23 balls inside the powerplay. The opener was dismissed after scoring 61 runs off 32 balls with 8 fours & 3 sixes. 

Jemimah Rodrigues scored an unbeaten 44 runs off 31 balls with 7 fours to help team India to a good total. For England, Freya Kemp picked up 2 wickets while Katherine Brunt and Natalie Sciver picked up 1 wicket each. 

Earlier, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss & opted to bat first against England in the 1st semi-final of Commonwealth Games 2022. This match is being played at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
