Indian team after tasting a loss against Australia in the first T20I will look to lift themselves up and find winning ways in the second T20I on Friday, September 23.
In the first T20I after winning the toss, Australia opted to bowl first and their bowlers proved Finch's decision right as they struck two early wickets in the form of skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
After two early wickets struggling Indian side was managed by Suryakumar Yadav (46 runs of 25 balls with 2x4, 4x6) and KL Rahul (55 of 35 with 4x4, 3x6), who made a much-needed partnership.
When Hardik Pandya came in to bat in the 12th over after KL Rahul got out, India was in a good position but still needed runs on the board against the strong Australian contingent.
Pandya from here played one of his best T20I knocks, he scored smashing 71 runs in 30 deliveries with seven fours and five sixes and remained unbeaten till the end of the first inning.
The Australian bowling attack was led by young Nathan Allis who scalped three wickets, experienced Josh Hazlewood got two and Cameron Green took one wicket.
Chasing a competitive total, the Australian team led by Aaron Finch overhauled India's 208/7 with four balls to spare. The man on hunt Cameron Green fired 61 runs off 30 balls and also made a thunderous partnership with Aaron Finch (22 of 13) and Smith (35 of 24). In the end, the Aussie side took past the total with the help of Mathew Wade (45 of 21 balls).
Indian bowlers looked ordinary especially the pace bowling duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel who leaked 101 runs out of 211 in 8 overs bowled by them. Axar Patel was a leading wicket grasper for India. He clinched 3 wickets by giving just 17 runs in four overs, Umesh Yadav got two wickets and one was taken by Chahal.
