Team India, courtesy of a good opening partnership, captain's knock by Rohit Sharma, and the grit shown by lower middle-order batters register a 6 wicket win against West Indies in the 1st ODI.
Rohit Sharma remained the top scorer with 60 off 51 balls with 10 fours and a six, and etched an opening partnership of 84 in 79 balls with Ishan Kishan (28). India lost 3 wickets in the space of 14th over to 17th over, and Rishabh Pant was unluckily dismissed in the 18th over.
However, Suryakumar Yadav (34*) and Deepak Hooda (26*) held the crease and took India to victory. Alzarri Joseph picked up 2 wickets for the Windies while Akeal Hosein bagged 1.
