India will take on the Kiwis in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai  on Wednesday, November 15th.

Ahead of the match, let's take a look at the record of Team India in the past semi-finals of the World Cup.

1983 Prudential Cup, against England: It was the first time that Team India, under the leadership of Kapil Dev, reached the knockout stage of the tournament. India beat England by six wickets. Mohinder Amarnath won the player of the game award for his all-round performance. 

1987 Reliance Cup, against England: The champions of the 1983 World Cup, India, lost to England this time in front of their home crowd. England beat India by 35 runs in the semi-final to knock them out of the World Cup. Graham Gooch won the player of the match award.

1996 Wills World Cup, against Sri Lanka: India lost to the neighboring Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

2003 World Cup, against Kenya: India easily beat Kenya by 91 runs in the semi-final of the 2003 World Cup. Man-of-the-Match India skipper Sourav Ganguly scored an unbeaten 111 runs in 114 balls.

2011 World Cup, against Pakistan: India beat Pakistan by 29 runs. Sachin Tendulkar won the player of the match award for his 885-runknock.

2015 World Cup against Australia: India lost to Australia by 95 runs.

2019 World Cup against New Zealand: India lost the battle by 18 runs.
