As the series shifted to Brabourne Stadium from DY Patil, the batting conditions decreased a bit as India finally managed to pick up more than a wicket, and then star batters for India failed to show up.
Chasing a target of 173, Smriti Mandhan was dismissed for just 1 run. Shafali Verma was the only silver lining in Indian batting in the 3rd T20I, smashing 52 runs off 41 balls with 6 fours & 3 sixes. Harmanpreet Kaur also played a good hand with 27-ball-37 runs and Deepti Sharma went unbeaten on 25 runs off 17 balls. The batting would need to step up to win the 4th match and stay alive in the series.
Bowling finally managed to pick up multiple wickets in a match in this series, grabbing 2 big wickets (Alyssa Healy and Tahlia McGrath) inside the powerplay. Rajashwari Gayakwad was brought in for Meghna Singh and went wicketless. Renuka Singh, Anjali Sarvani, Deepti Sharma and Devika Vaidya grabbed 2 wickets each.
After the top order failed to score for the first time in the series, #4 Ellyse Perry stepped up as she smacked 75 runs in 47 balls with 9 fours & 3 sixes. Grace Harris also fired with the bat with her knock of 18-ball-41 runs. Opener Beth Mooney also scored 30 runs in 22 balls with 4 fours, while none of the other batters managed to score in double-digits.
Australian bowlers and fielders were ecstatic in the field as they didn't falter except for Shafali Verma's knock. Darcie Brown and Ashleigh Gardner picked up 2 wickets each while Megan Schutt and Nicola Carey picked up 1 wicket each.
