Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the 15th match of the IPL 2021. KKR lost their first five wickets inside of powerplay, and the way was tough all along chasing 221. Deepak Chahar picked four out of those five wickets. Lungi Ngidi picked up 3 wickets as well, to stop KKR at 202.
Although Dre Russ (54) looked dangerous but once he got out to Sam Currans, Pat Cummins (66*) unleashed an unexpected carnage and took the match close but the wickets at the other end tumbled and eventually CSK won by 18 runs. A total of 26 sixes were hit in this match.
In the first innings, CSK scored 220/3. Faf du Plessis (95*) & Ruturaj Gaikwad (64) provided an excellent start. MS Dhoni also scored 17 runs off 8 balls, with two boundaries and a six. For KKR, Varun Chakravarthy, Andre Russell & Sunil Narine picked up a wicket each.
Earlier, KKR Captain Eoin Morgan Won the toss and elected to bowl first against KKR.
