Disciplined bowling from Delhi Capitals bowlers made sure they restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad to 134/9 in the first innings of the 33rd IPL match being played in Dubai on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first, SRH had an underwhelming start as they lost David Warner in the first over itself for a duck. Captain Kane Williamson, coming at number 3, and Wridhiman Saha struggled to find boundaries in the powerplay and ended up scoring just 32 and lost two wickets.
The middle overs, too, didn't go in their way as SRH continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and failed to make a partnership. Abdul Samad was the top scorer with 28 runs off 21 balls with the help of two fours and a six.
For Delhi, Anrich Nortje was breathing fire as he consistently clocked over 147 kmph throughout his four-over spell. Nortje picked two wickets and gave just 12 runs. His South African partner, Kagiso Rabada, got three wickets. Axar Patel too returned with economical figures of 2/21 in four overs.
Brief Score:
Sunrisers Hyderabad - 134/9 (Abdul Samad - 28; Kagiso Rabada - 3/37)
