Chennai Super Kings defending a target of 193 runs, managed to restrict KKR at 165/9 to lift their 4th IPL trophy. KKR started off well with the opening partnership of 91 in 10.3 overs, but after that KKR batting suffered a collapse which made it impossible for them to make a comeback. For CSK, Shardul picked up 3 wickets, Jadeja & Hazelwood picked up 2 wickets while Chahar & Bravo picked up 1 wicket each.
For KKR, openers Venkatesh Iyer (51) and Shubman Gill (50) set the tone for a win but then none of the other batters were able to cross double digits and collapsed, credits to Lord Thakur who picked up two wickets in the 10th over.
In the first innings, Faf du Plessis (86), powered CSK to 192/2 against KKR. KKR bowlers looked helpless as Faf smashed 7 fours and 3 sixes in his 59 ball innings. Uthappa scored a quickfire 31 off 15 balls while Moeen Ali also smashed a few ball in the end for his 20 ball 37* runs. For KKR, Sunil Narine picked up two wickets while Shivam Mavi picked up 1.
