Kolkata Knight Riders, powered by excellent bowling, were able to restrict Rajsthan at 85/10 and win the match by 86 runs, almost confirming their playoff spot. Shivam Mavi picked up 4 wickets and Lockie Ferguson picked up 3. While Varun Chakravarthy & Shakib al Hasan got 1 wicket each.
For RR, Rahul Tewatia was the lone ranger as at one stage RR were struggling at 35-7 but innings of 44 runs off 36 balls helped Rajasthan to ignore the record for lowest score in IPL history.
In the first innings, KKR opener Shubman Gill scored 56 which took KKR to 171/4 against Rajasthan Royals. In his 44 ball innings, Gill smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes. V Iyer also scored 38 off 35 balls. For RR, Morris, Sakariya, Tewatia and Glenn Phillips picked 1 wicket each.
Earlier, RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to field first against KKR in the 54th match of the IPL 2021. The match is being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.
