Punjab Kings courtesy of an excellent bowling performance defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore comfortably by 34 runs. RCB while chasing 180 in the 11th Over, when they were 62-1, Harpreet Brar started off the over picking up Kohli's wicket. He clean bowled Kohli, and then Maxwell as well on the next ball and ended his over as a double wicket maiden. In his next over, he dismissed Ab de Villiers on the first ball to completely diminish RCB's chances of winning.
For PBKS, Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets as well to stop RCB at 145. For RCB, Kohli and Patidar scored 35 and 31 runs each. In the end, Harshal Patel (31) struck a few boundaries and Jamieson scored 16* but till then it was too late. None of the other batsmen were able to cross 10 runs.
In the first innings, KL Rahul (91*) powered PBKS to 179/5. Punjab who was playing without their regular opener Mayank, lost their first wicket in the 4th over in the form of Prabhsimran Singh. However, KL Rahul (91*) and Gayle (46) made a partnership of 80 runs. Captain Rahul and Harpreet Brar (25*) added 61 runs in 32 balls to take the score to 179. For RCB, Jamieson picked up two wickets.
