Chasing a target of 179, RCB got off to a good opening, with 55 runs in 6,5 overs. However, RCB lost 4 quick wickets in a space of 4 overs to struggle at 62/4 in 8.5 overs. Shahbaz Ahmed came out to bat at #6 and scored 45 runs in 26 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Even though RR lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal early in the 2nd over, Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal etched a partnership of 70 runs in 49 balls for the 2nd wicket and then the Englishman etched a partnership of 83 runs in 51 balls with Shimron Hetmyer.
Jos Buttler finished with a score of 70 runs in 47 balls with 6 sixes. Padikkal contributed with 37 runs in 29 balls while Hetmyer scored an unbeaten 42 runs.
For RCB, David Willey, Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel picked up 1 wicket each.
