KKR vs GT IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans kept their nerve as they sealed a win by 8 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders in a last over thriller.
Despite Andre Russell's 48 off 25 in the death overs, was dismissed in the last over of the innings by Alzarri Joseph. Russell remained the highest scorer for KKR with Rinku Singh being the second highest scorer with 35 runs in 28 balls.
For GT, all 5 bowlers picked up wickets to restrict KKR to 148/8 in 20 overs. Mohammad Shami, Yash Dayal & Rashid Khan picked up 2 wickets each while Alzarri Joseph & Lockie Ferguson managed 1 scalp each to their name.
In the first innings, Hardik Pandya yet again played a captain's knock as he helped Gujarat Titans to a total of 156/9 in 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders.
After GT lost opener Shubman Gill (7) in the second over, Pandya came on to bat at #3 and smacked 67 runs in 49 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Pandya added 75 runs in 56 balls with Saha (25) for the second wicket and 50 runs in 35 balls with David Miller (27) for the third wicket.
For KKR, Andre Russell picked up 4 wickets in the only over he bowled in the match - the 20th over, while Tim Southee picked up 3 wickets. Umesh Yadav and Shivam Mavi picked up 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss & opted to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 35th match of IPL 2022. This match is being played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.
