After MI rigged CSK with regular wickets, MS Dhoni came out in the 15th over and smacked an unbeaten 28 runs in 13 balls with 3 fours and a six.
With 17 runs required in the last over, Dhoni smacked a six and a four, followed by a double. Needing 4 runs on the last ball, former CSK captain smacked the Unadkat delivery for a four to win the match for CSK.
Ambati Rayudu was the top scorer for CSK with 40 runs while opener Robin Uthappa scored 30 runs. For MI, Daniel Sams picked up 4 wickets while Jaydev Unadkat picked up 2. Riley Meredith also picked up a wicket on his debut.
In the first innings, Tilak Varma scored his third half-century of IPL 2022 as Mumbai Indians managed to post 155/7 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings.
After the top order was dismissed cheaply in the powerplay by Mukesh Choudhary, but Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten 51 runs in 43 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes while SKY scored 32 runs in 21 balls.
For CSK, Mukesh Choudhary picked up 3 wickets while Dwayne Bravo picked up 2 wickets. Spinners Mithcell Santner and Maheesh Theekshana picked up 1 wicket each.
