PBKS bowling unit, powered by Vaibhav Arora's lethal swing in the powerplay managed to hand CSK their third defeat this season on the trott. Rahul Chahar picked up 3 wickets while Vaibhav Arora & Liam Livingstone picked up 2 wickets each while Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh & Odean Smith managed 1 wicket each.
Shivam Dube top-scored with 57 off 30 balls while MS Dhoni tried his hand with 23 off 28 balls. None of the other batters crossed the 20-run mark.
In the first innings, Liam Livingstone justified his 11.50 crore price tag as he smacked 60 runs to help Punjab Kings post a total of 180 against Chennai Super Kings.
After losing the first two wickets inside 1.2 overs, PBKS needed a good partnership to anchor the ship. Shikhar Dhawan (33) and Liam Livingstone provided just that with their partnership of 95 runs in 52 balls. Livingstone scored 60 runs off 32 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes before CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja got the better of the English all-rounder.
