MI vs RR IPL 2022: After fifties from two Mumbai Indians batters, Rajasthan Royals' bowlers sheld their nerve to register a 23-run win against Mumbai Indians to register their second win of the season.
For Rajasthan Royals, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal continued good form picking up 2 wickets for 26 runs in his 4 overs, while Navdeep Saini managed two wickets. Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna and Ravichandran Ashwin managed 1 wicket each.
Even though Mumbai Indians lost their captain & opener, Rohit Sharma, in the 2nd over, youngsters Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma smacked 54 and 61 runs each to bring MI close, but RR's late comeback didn't allow MI to close the match.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians' captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai in the 9th match of IPL 2022. Jos Buttler smacked 100 runs off 68 while opening the innings while Hetmyer smacked 35 runs off 14 balls in the latter half of the innings. Jasprit Bumrah and Tymal Mills picked up 3 wickets each for MI while Kieron Pollard also managed a scalp.
