Ireland and Afghanistan will face each other in the 5th T20I on August 17th to win the 5-match T20I series, which is currently levelled at 1-1.
After an amazing 27-run win over Ireland in the fourth game of the five-match series, Afghanistan will try to explode in the final match to clinch the series. Whereas, the home team Ireland will try to get back the momentum which they had in the first two matches.
In the rain-delayed fourth match, both the innings were reduced to 11 overs each, Afghanistan took an upper edge over the home team when Nazibullah Zadran (50 runs in 24 balls) and Rashid Khan (31 runs in 10 balls) stormed over Irish bowlers with 50-run partnership in just 18 balls.
Afghanistan scored impressive total of 132-6 in 11 overs. For Ireland Delany scalped 3 wickets of 33 in three overs. Adair, McCarthy and Fionn Hand were the other bowlers to take a wicket each.
Chasing a massive target of 133 runs in 11 overs, George Dockrell showed some instinct of fine batting when he scored 41 runs in 27 balls but was unable to take his side to a win. In 11 overs Ireland fell short by 105 runs with a loss of ten wickets.
In a must-win match, Fareed Ahmad (3/14 in 2 overs), Rashid (2/21 in 3 overs), and Naveen (2/25 in 2 overs) performed well and took Afghanistan into the decider match that will be played on August 17, Wednesday.
