Playing for the Lancashire county team in the Royal London One-Day Cup, Washington Sundar sustained a shoulder injury while fielding. With two days to go for the series to begin, the All-India Senior Selection Committee named Shahbaz Ahmed as the replacement for Washington Sundar.

Shahbaz Ahmed hasn't represented team India in any format and this is his maiden call-up for international cricket. The left-handed batter and left-arm unorthodox bowler impressed one and all with his all-round skills in the IPL while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
India will play the first ODI against Zimbabwe on August 18th at Harare Sports Club, Harare.
