Kiwis stretch first innings lead to 171 on rain dampened day two
March 23 (CRICKETNMORE) - Kane Williamson’s 102 provided the backbone of New Zealand’s 229/4 at stumps which left England on the ropes on a wet and gloomy day when rain restricted play to 23.1 overs and only 54 runs were scored.
Kane Williamson became his country’s most successful century-maker with his 18th test ton. Former captain Martin Crowe and current team mate Ross Taylor are on 17, with the latter also expected to eventually surpass his mentor in the near future.
Brief Scores: England - 58/10, New Zealand - 229/4
