MS Dhoni has stepped down from the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings(CSK) ahead of the IPL 2022 and Ravindra Jadeja has been announced as the new leader of the team from this season. 

"MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team," CSK's statement read. 

"Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond," the statement added. 

Jadeja will be the third captain of the CSK franchise in all these years. He has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings since 2012.
