ENGW vs INDW: After Renuka Singh shuffled through England's top-order, experienced Nat Sciver-Brunt stepped up with a fifty, helping her team to 151/7 against India in the 14th match of Women's T20 World Cup 2023. Amy Jones and captain Heather Knight also made critical contributions with the bat.
Renuka Singh started off with excellent pace bowling, dismissing Danielle Wyatt on the 3rd bowl of the innings for a golden duck. The pacer then got Alice Capsey (3) on the first bowl of her next over, followed by Sophia Dunkley in the next over, as England were struggling at 29/3 in 4.4 overs.
From thereon, Nat Sciver Brunt and Heather Knight got together to stabilize the innings, etching a partnership of 51 runs for the 4th wicket. Knight was dismissed after scoring 28 runs. After that, Amy Jones added 40 runs with Nat for the 5th wicket. Nat Sciver-Brunt was dismissed after completing her fifty, while Amy Jones scored 40 runs before getting dismissed in the last over by Renuka.
For India, Renuka Thakur picked up a 5-fer while Shikha Pandey & Deepti Sharma managed 1 wicket each.
Earlier, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss & opted to bowl first against England in the 14th match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2022. This match is being played at St George's Park, Gqeberha.
