Continuing on their overnight score of 21/0 in 2nd innings, Shan Masood took on Joe Root who came on to bowl the first over of the day and smacked him for three boundaries in the over, including two fours on the first two deliveries.
Shan Masood was eventually the first batter to get dismissed on Day 3 as spinner Jack Leach cleaned him up after the batter scored 24 runs with 3 fours and a six. Azhar Ali, playing his last match, was also dismissed in the same over for a duck. Jack Leach struck again in his next over as he caught Abdullah Shafique (26) on the pads and dismissed the batter via LBW.
In the 24 overs of play in the 1st session on Day 3, Pakistan added 78 runs for a loss of three wickets. England would look to clean up the Pakistan batting and complete a clean sweep, while Pakistan would hope not out batters Babar Azam (13*) and Saud Shakeel (28*) to extend their lead and give a tough fight to avoid a clean sweep.
