Pakistan will take the field against New Zealand in the 2nd ODI to build an unassailable lead in the 3-match series after winning the first ODI.

Fine heroics from Naseem Shah with the ball and then an absolutely tremendous batting from skipper Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, and Mohammad Rizwan paved Pakistan's way to the 6-wicket victory in the first ODI of the three-match series against New Zealand here at Karachi.
Pakistan dominated the visitor Kiwi side throughout the game. At first pacer, Naseem Shah dismantled the Kiwi side with a 5-wicket haul. Usama Mir helped the side with bowling figures of 2/42, Mohammad Wasim and Nawaz also scalped a one-one wicket each, which restricted the New Zealand side to 255/9 in 50 overs.
For New Zealand, Michael Bracewell first scored 43 runs for the team and then also grabbed 2 wickets which made him the leading run-getter and wicket-taker of the match for the Kiwi team.
Apart from Bracewell, Tom Latham scored 42 runs, Glenn Phillips got 37, and Daryl Mitchell made 36 runs. Star batter Devon Conway was unable to deliver runs with the bat and fell down on a duck.
Pakistan on the other hand batted well, especially veteran Fakhar Zaman who bolstered the attack and nailed 56 runs. skipper Babar Azam continued his form and thrashed 66 runs but it was Mohammad Rizwan who left behind the demons and scored 77 runs with 6 fours and a six.
In the end, Haris Sohail splintered the New Zealand team with his quick 32 runs knocking in 23 deliveries with 2 fours and 2 sixes that gave the home team who spend some moments of joy and gained a 1-0 lead in the series.
