Hardik Pandya's fifty took Gujarat Titans to 162/7 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first inning of the 21st match of the IPL 2022 being played at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.
On being asked to bat first, the Titans got off to a good start despite losing two wickets - Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan - inside the powerplay. Gujarat scored 51 runs in the first six overs.
GT kept losing wickets at regular intervals but skipped Hardik Pandya looked in complete control from one end. Pandya and Abhinav Manohar added 50 runs in 32 balls for the fifth wicket. Manohar hit 35 in 21 balls before getting out in the penultimate over.
Pandya remained unbeaten on 50 from 42 balls as Gujarat finished at 162 in the end.
For SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan took two wickets each.
