Harmanpreet Kaur after winning the toss invited Sri Lanka to bat first. Renuka Singh proved the skipper's decision right as she scalped her career best bowling figures of 4/28, with one maiden over to her name. Deepti Sharma (2/30) and Meghna Singh (2/42) were the other Indian bowlers to shock the Lankan batting line-up.
Ama Kanchana was the only Sri Lankan batter who was able to deliver herself with 47 runs stand against the quality Indian bowling line-up. Nilakshi de Silva (32 runs) was the second highest run getter for Sri Lanka in the match. Skipper Chamari Athapaththu scored 27 runs before getting out over Meghna Singh.
The three-match ODI series is a part of ICC Women's Championship where India is currently leading by 1-0 after winning the first ODI by four wickets.
