India ended day 1 on 300/6 against England in the 2nd test at Chennai.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, India lost Shubman Gill early on a duck. Rohit and Cheteshwar Pujara added 85 runs for the second wicket. Pujara and Virat Kohli got out in quick succession pushing India on backfoot.
Rohit and Ajinkya Rahane then paired to add 162 runs for the fourth wicket. They played their shots well on a tricky pitch.
Rishabh Pant has so far looked good and has already five fours and a six. He is not out on 33 along with debutant Axar Patel.
