Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) has announced Shreyas Iyer as their captain for the upcoming IPL 2022. KKR made this announcement via Twitter.

Iyer has now become the sixth KKR captain after Sourav Ganguly, Brendon McCullum, Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik, and Eoin Morgan. 

Shreyas Iyer was recently bought by the Kolkata franchise in the IPL Mega Auction for INR 12.25 crores. Iyer was previously part of the Delhi Capitals. He captained DC to IPL Final in the 2020 season.
