Half-centuries from Travis Head and Aaron Finch took Australia to 291/6 in the first inning against Sri Lanka in the third ODI being played at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
After opting to bat first, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh got out cheaply but Finch one end intact and scored 62 off 85 balls. Marnus Labuschagne played a helping hand of 29 runs but couldn't play long.
Alex Carey quickly scored 49 off 52 balls to change the momentum. Travis Head smacked unbeaten 70 off 65 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes and finished the Australian inning on a high.
Head got good support from Glenn Maxwell, who made 33 off 18 balls with the help of three fours and a six and Cameron Green, who scored 15 off 12.
For Sri Lanka, Jeffrey Vandersay took three wickets in his ten overs and conceded 49 runs.
