Half-centuries from Avishka Fernando and Charith Asalanka helped Sri Lanka score 275/9 in the first innings against India in the 2nd ODI at Colombo.
After opting to bat first, Sri Lanka got off to a good start as they scored 59 runs in the powerplay without losing any wicket. Minod Bhanuka scored 36 before Yuzvendra Chahal removed him and Bhanuka Rajapaksha in consecutive deliveries. Fernando and Dhananjaya De Silva steadied the ship before the former mistimed one off Bhuvneshwar Kumar just after reaching his fifty.
Charith Asalanka continued to play positively and scored 65 off 68 while Chamika Karunaratne once again finished the innings beautifully to take Sri Lanka to a competitive total of 275.
