Indian women's cricket team opening batter, Smriti Mandhana scripted history with a thunderous fifty against England women's team in the Commonwealth Games 2022 semi-finals. With the help of 8 fours & 3 sixes, Mandhana scored 61 runs in her knock. During this, Mandhana completed her fifty in just 23 balls.
Smriti Mandhana has registered the fastest T20I fifty for India. The opener has broken her own record for the same. Prior to this, in the year 2019, Smriti Mandhana smacked a 24-ball fifty in a T20I game against New Zealand.
Apart from this, Mandhana registered the fastest fifty in a knockout game in Women's T20I.
Earlier, Australia's Meg Lanning held the record, who scored a 27-ball fifty in 2018 against England.
It is also noteworthy that Mandhana is currently the leading run scorer in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 Women's Cricket tournament.
