England won the toss and called the Irish team to bat first. Batter Paul Stirling (14 of 8) and skipper Andrew Balbirnie who scored a furious 62 runs in 47 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes, gave the start which was neede by Ireland.
Keeper batter Lorcan Tucker also batted well and scored 34 runs in 27 balls with 3 boundaries and 1 lofty over the fence and played a 82-runs second wicket partnership with Balbirnie.
The way Irish batters were striking the ball, it was visible that the team is looking to set a huge total against England. But all-rounder Liam Livingstone, who got 3/17 in 3 overs and speedster Mark Wood with 3/34 shackled the opponents and thwarted them to 157/10 in 19.2 overs.
