Star Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga struck 3/28 at a decent economy, and Theekshana scalped 2/32 at crucial moments which kept Netherland batters away from the target.
Other Sri Lankan bowlers who were able to put down the Dutch team were Lahiru Kumara and Binura Fernando got a one-one wicket each.
While chasing a good target of 163 runs, Max ODowd's 71 runs of 53 balls kept the Dutch team in the game till the end but couldn't able to win the game for his side.
Earlier in the first inning, Kushal Mendis' blistering fifty took Sri Lanka to a par total of 162/6 in a must-win match.
After winning the toss, Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka opted to bat first, and due to consistent batting from Kusal Mendis who led to a scorching 79 runs in 44 balls including 5 fours and 5 sixes.
Charith Asalanka supported the opener with his slow but crucial 31-run knocks in 30 balls. Apart from the two, none of the other batters was able to show gritty intent in front of effective Dutch bowling.
The Netherlands on the other hand jogged Lankan batters at regular intervals. Bowled with good line and length which kept their opponents under pressure.
The current leading wicket-taker for the Dutch team Bas de Leede and van Meekeren scythed Sri Lanka with 2-2 wickets each. Gugten and Klaassen also got one-one wickets but went a bit extravagant.
