Disciplined bowling helped India restrict Australia 152/5 in the first innings of the warmup match for the T20 World Cup in Dubai.
The decision to bat first turned out to be a disaster at first for Australia as they were reduced to 11/3 in three overs. R Ashwin, who was given 2nd over, removed David Warner and Mitchell Marsh on consecutive deliveries while Ravindra Jadeja got Aaron Finch out LBW on the very first ball of his spell.
Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell revived the innings and added 61 runs for the fourth wicket. Maxwell continued his good IPL form and scored 37 before Rahul Chahar bowled him on 37.
Smith and Marcus Stoinis then added 76 runs for the fifth wicket. Smith scored 57 from 48 balls while Stoinis smashed 41 from 25 balls to give a solid finish to the innings.
