Afghanistan's batting started well with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Usman Ghani's 42 runs opening wicket partnership. In this Gurbaz scored 28 on 24 balls with 2 sixes and 2 fours and Ghani got 27 of 27 from his bat with 2 fours and one six.
Ibrahim Zadran was looking dangerous and scoring big shots. He got the third-highest runs for the team as he scored 22 runs before he got dismissed by Kumara.
