BAN vs NED: Netherland bowling led by Paul van Meekeren and Bad De Leede helps the Netherlands push back Bangladesh to 144/8 in the 5th match of the Super 12 stage in the T20 World Cup here at Hobart.
After winning the toss, Scott Edwards came to the field first and the dutch bowlers outclassed the opponent with assaults at regular intervals. Paul van Meekeren grabbed 2/21 and all-rounder de Leede got 2/29 in 3 overs.
Other bowlers who went successful were Klaassen (1/33), Tim Pringle (1/10 in 2 overs), Shariz Ahmad (1/27 in 3 overs), and Logan van Beek (1/12 in 3 overs) clinched a wicket each.
While batting first, Bangladesh got a good start when Soumya Sarkar got 14 off 14 and Najmul Shanto scored 25 runs in 20 balls and partnered 43 runs for the opening wicket.
Bangladesh at one point was struggling to 76-5 due to the loss of some quick wickets but then Afif Hossain's 38 runs in 27 balls including 2 fours and 2 sixes helped the side get past to a defendable total.
In the end, Mosaddek Hossain played a mini knock of 20 in 12 balls which also went well for the Bangladesh team.
