T20 World Cup: The Netherlands beat Namibia by five wickets and climbs to the number-one spot in Group A.
While chasing a low total of 121 runs, the Dutch team accomplished the target at a loss of five wickets.
The opening pair of Max O'Dowd (35 of 35) and Vikramjit Singh (39 of 31) played big shots during the powerplay and scored 59 runs stand for the first wicket. All-rounder Bad de Leede played a calm and match-winning inning of 30 runs.
For Namibia, JJ Smit scalped two wickets. Whereas, Scholtz and Frylinck clinched one-one wicket each.
Earlier in the first inning, After losing the toss, Netherland bowlers bowled on tight lengths and didn't allow Namibian batters to play free-flow shots. Bas de Leede came as the best bowler with 2 dismissals by losing a meager 18 runs in 3 overs.
Combined bowling efforts from the Netherlands helps the team put down Namibia to 121/6 at Hobart.
Other bowlers who were able to impress were Tim Pringle (1/15, in 3 overs), Ackermann (1/17 in 3 overs), Meekeren (1/18), and van der Merve (1/6 in 1 over).
Namibia on the other hand, couldn't able to get runs during the powerplay and lost wickets at regular intervals which didn't allow them to play scoring shots.
Frylinck was the top scorer for Namibia with 43 runs off 48 balls at a strike rate of 86.36. Lingen got the second-best with 20 runs for the team.
