Pak left-arm bowler Haris Rauf bowled ruthlessly in the 18th over where he grabbed three wickets and finished with 3/28, Mohammad Wasim scalped 2/20 and Nawaz got 2/44. Shahnawaz Dahani claimed one to his account.
New Zealand after winning the toss came to bat first and got a good start. Devon Conway (36 of 35), and Finn Allen (13 off 8) batted well for the first wicket, but soon after Allen was sent to the pavilion by Wasim, skipper Williamson took the charge and scored 31 in 30 deliveries.
After a few wickets in quick succession, Mark Chapman (32 off 16) was the batter who took the home side to a respected total.
