Vijay Hazare Trophy: In the quarter-final match between Punjab and Karnataka, Punjab opener Abhishek Sharma stepped up as he smacked a marvellous ton while batting first.
After being put in to bat first, Punjab were off to a terrible start as opener Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed on the very first ball of the innings. Punjab went on to be struggling at 34/3 in 12.5 overs.

However, opener Abhishek Sharma held the other end as he smashed 109 runs in 123 balls, laced with 12 fours & 2 sixes. During this, Abishek etched a partnership of 76 runs with Anmol Malhotra for the 4th wicket, and a partnership of 77 runs with Sanvir Singh for the 5th wicket.
With none of the batters stepping up to support, Punjab finished their innings on 235/10 in 50 overs. Mayank Agarwal-led Karnataka will need to chase down 236 runs to progress through to the semi-final of the Vijay Hazare trophy 2022.
