ENG vs SA: After losing the first test at Lord's by a margin of an innings and 6 runs, the English team made a strong comeback in the 2nd test as they rattled the South African batting in the 1st session on day 1, dismissing half the African batting line up.
Veteran James Anderson struck first with the wicket of African opener Sarel Erwee (3) in the 5th over. Captain Dean Elgar (12) was the next to be dismissed courtesy of a brilliant step by Stuart Broad.
Broad struck again as he dismissed Keegan Petersen (21). Captain Ben Stokes then brought himself in the attack in the 22nd over and dismissed Aiden Markram (14) on the 3rd delivery. Stokes picked up another wicket before lunch, dismissing Rassie van der Dussen via LBW. South Africa managed 77 runs in the first session at a loss of 4 wickets.
