29-year-old swashbuckling Windies' batter Rovman Powell has yet again garnered attention with an explosive knock. In the ongoing United Super 50 Cup, Powell smashed an unbeaten ton at a strike rate of more than 100.
While Jamaica Scorpians were chasing a target of 319 runs in 50 overs against Guyana Happy Eagles in the semi-finals, Rovman Powell smacked an unbeaten 105 runs in 92 deliveries, smacking 7 fours & 3 sixes.
Courtesy of this, the Scorpians managed to chase down the target in just 48.1 overs, winning the match by 3 wickets with 11 balls to spare. Along with Alwyn Williams, right-handed batter Rovman Powell etched a partnership of 103 runs for the 4th wicket, which proved vital in the run chase.
