Umran Malik Fastest Ball: In the first T20I match between India and Sri Lanka played on January 3rd (Tuesday), India clinched the last-ball thriller by 3 runs. One of the highlights from Indian bowling was Umran Malik, who grabbed two wickets in his spell of 4 overs while conceding just 27 runs.
In the 17th over, Umran Malik bowled a delivery outside the leg stump which caught Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka on his pads. The on-field umpire adjudged it not out after which the Indian team went for a DRS.
Shanaka was in explosive rhythm, and even though he was adjudged not out by the third umpire as well, the momentum was broken. On the very next delivery, Umran Malik bowled a ripper full and around off, which invited Shanaka for a drive. Shanaka tried to drive it over extra cover but the extra pace didn't allow him to attain the desired elevation and sliced it to extra cover.
