Women's T20 World Cup: A tremendous all-around performance by the South African team led the home side to an emphatic win over New Zealand by 65 runs.
The South African team batted first and was put down at 132/6 in 20 overs. Chloe Tryon (40) scored the highest number of runs for the team, Nadine de Klerk got 28 and skipper Sune Luus made 22 runs.
For New Zealand, Aden Carson (2/23) and Lea Tahuhu (2/27) registered leading wickets for the team. Hayley Jensen also got 1/13 in 2 overs.
New Zealand came to chase a low total but their batting collapsed off 67 in 18.1 overs resulting in a big loss. Captain Sophie Devine was the team's highest run-getter, scoring 16 runs in 26 balls.
The Kiwi batting felt helpless as 8 out of 11 batters couldn't take themselves in double digits.
Nonkululeko Mlaba dismantled the opponents by taking 3/10 at an economy of 2.50. Marizanne Kapp and Cloe Tryon added two-two wickets each. Whereas, Shabnim Ismail and Ayabonga Khaka also nailed one-one wicket each for the team.
