Women's World Cup: Chasing a target of 278, the Australian team held their nerve and managed to win the match by 6 wickets, and are still undefeated in the tournament.
Australia started off strongly with an opening stand of 121 runs in 19.2 overs, however, Indian bowlers were patient and didn't leak many runs to bring the match down to 8 runs in 6 balls. Beth Mooney then smacked a four on the first ball of the ultimate over by Jhulan Goswami, took a double on the next and then another boundary to seal the match.
For Australia, captain Meg Lanning remained the top scorer with 97 runs in 107 balls while Alyssa Healy also played a 65-ball-72 run knock to give a good start to her team.
Pooja Vastrakar picked up 2 wickets while Meghna Singh and Sneh Rana managed 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Australia won the toss and asked team India to bat first, after which Mithali Raj (68), Yastika Bhatia (59) and Harmanpreet Kaur (57) contributed with fifties to take the Indian total to 277 after losing both the openers in first 6 overs at 28. Darcie Brown picked up 3 wickets for Australia, spinner Alana King managed two wickets while Jess Jonassen managed a wicket as well.
