Interesting Trivia about Tony Cozier

Cozier was born in Bridgetown, Barbados on 10th  July 1940


He played hockey as a goalkeeper for Barbados and cricket as a batsman and wicket-keeper for two local Barbados clubs - Wanderers and Carlton


His first Test Match commentary on radio was in 1965. The match was between West Indies vs Australia.


Cozier wrote the definitive The West Indies: 50 Years of Test Cricket, with a foreword by Garfield Sobers (1978).


The press box at the Kensington Oval cricket ground was named after him


He did the commentary for BBC TMS, Sky Sports and Channel Nine, and was the default guest commentator from West Indies whenever there was an overseas Test.
