1) Richard Illingworth was born in 1963, Greengates, Bradford, Yorkshire.

2) Illingworth was a left-arm spinner who played most of his first-class wickets for Worcestershire. However, in the latter stages of his career, Richard played for Derbyshire for two seasons. He also played one season in the South African Currie Cup for Natal. 

3) Richard Illingworth made three centuries while batting as a night watchman. 

4) Illingworth finished his career as a player with 831 wickets in first-class cricket while scoring 7027 runs at the same time. In List-A cricket, Richard picked up 412 wickets and scored 1458 runs.
