Anil Kumble was the top scorer as he remained not out on 110 runs while MS Dhoni smacked 92 runs off just 81 deliveries. Dinesh Karthik contributed with 91 runs and Sachin Tendulkar scored 82 runs.
Not only this, two more batters scored a fifty - captain Rahul Dravid (55) and VVS Laxman (51). Ultimately, the match ended in a draw with England on 369/6, requiring another 131 runs to win the match.

Alastair Cook yet again displayed his best against favourite rivals India in the 3rd test at Birmingham in 2011. After being put in to bat first, India were bowled out 224 with MS Dhoni (77) being the top scorer.
In reply, England opener Alastair Cook smacked a tremendous 294 runs while Eoin Morgan scored 104 runs. Andrew Straus (87), Kevin Pietersen (63) and Tim Bresnan (53*) made important contributions as England declared their first innings on 710/7.
The hosts went on to bowl out India for 244 runs and win the match by an innings and 242 runs.

Karun Nair, a cricketer whose only remembered for his triple century for India in test cricket, scored his magnificent knock in this match, the 5th test at Chennai in 2016. After opting to bat first, England posted a mammoth 477 in the first innings. Moeen Ali was the top scorer with 146 runs while Joe Root (88), Liam Dawson (66*), Adil Rashid (60) and Jonny Bairstow (49) made good contributions.
In reply, first opener KL Rahul smacked 199 runs and missed out on his double century by 1 run, while Karun Nair smacked an unbeaten 303 runs with 32 fours and 4 sixes, taking India to a total of 759/7d in their first innings.
