Indian top-order batter Ishan Kishan is considered a promising player of the Indian cricket team. Under his captaincy Indian team reached the finals of the Under-19 World Cup.
Born on 18 July 1998 in Bihar, Ishan has worked hard to place himself in the Indian cricket team. He had a passion for the game since his childhood. He started playing cricket at the age of just 6 and sooner got the chance to lead the school cricket team where under his captaincy team won several school tournaments.
Kishan completed his early education at Delhi Public School which is located in Patna and after that, he completed his graduation from Patna University.
Ishan’s family lives in Patna and his father's name is Pranav Pandey is a businessman and mother's name is Chitra Pandey who is a housewife. He has an older brother named Rajkishan who also played cricket as a state level player.
Like his brother, Ishan had a greater passion for cricket and devoted a great deal of effort to pursuing a career in the sport. His father also hoped to see Ishan succeed as a cricket player.
As a result of his love for the game, his older brother Rajkishan enrolled the youngster at the Cricket Academy, where he met coach Santosh Kumar. Coach Santosh worked on his wicketkeeping skills and improved his batting insticts Due to his devotion and hard effort Ishan was added to the Jharkhand Ranji team. On 6 November 2016 he got the chance to play for Jharkhand against Delhi where scored 273 runs in an innings which was the highest total by any player.
After proving himself, the batter was selected for the Under-19 World Cup 2016 where he was playing as the captain of the Under-19 Indian cricket team which led his team to the final but lost against West Indies Under-19 in Dhaka.
Due to the outstanding batting of the cricketer, he was also included in the IPL auction. In the year 2017, Ishan Kishan was included in the newly established franchise Gujarat Lions under the captaincy of Suresh Raina.
After playing for Gujarat, in the year 2018, Mumbai Indians advanced Kishan in their squad as a free-flow batter who has the ability to play at any batting position. Ishan Kishan played some brilliant innings and scored two centuries in IPL.
Ishan’s fortune favoured in February 2021 when he was selected for Indian Twenty20 Team for the England series. The date was March 14, 2021 when he got an opportunity to make his international debut for India in T20I against England.
The batter proved himself as he scored a brilliant half-century. India won the game by seven wickets, and Kishan was awarded Man of the Match. He was selected for India's ODI and Twenty20 teams for the Sri Lankan series. On July 18, 2021, he scored 59 runs off 42 balls in the first ODI for India against Sri Lanka.
