Sri Lanka reach 144/6 before rain plays spoilsport on Day 2
Colombo, Aug 23: Persistent rain ensured that only a shortened first session of play was possible on Day 2 of the second Test between New Zealand and Sri Lanka at the P. Sara Oval on Friday. Just over 30 overs were bowled as no play was possible after lunch and play had to be eventually called off.
Trent Boult and Tim Southee both bowled double wicket maidens in the first session that broke the Sri Lankan middle-order. Boult's double strike took his Test wicket tally to 251.
