WATCH: Matt Parkinson Grabs His First Test Wicket On Debut After Coming In As Concussion Substitute
ENG vs NZ 1st Test: An England player who was probably watching the test match on his TV screen on Day 1, was called upon to make his test debut against New Zealand after Jack Leach was ruled out after mere overs on Day 1 due to a concussion. Matthew Parkinson joined the England team on Day 2, and finally managed to pick his first international test wicket on day 3.
After 24 wickets fell in the first two days of the test, Daryl Mitchell & Tom Blundell held the crease and added 195 runs for the 5th wicket and slowed the tumbling of wickets. However, once this partnership was broken on Day 3, a Kiwi batting collapse followed.
