West Indies thrash ICC World XI by 72 runs
June 1 (CRICKETNMORE) - West Indies defeated ICC World XI by 72 runs in the Hurricane Relief T20 fund-raiser at Lord’s on Friday. The charity match was to raise funds to rebuild stadia in Anguilla and Dominica ravaged by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.
Put into bat first by World XI captain Shahid Afridi, West Indies post 199/4 in 20 overs. The highlights of the West Indies innings was 58 from 26 balls by opener Lewis. Marlon Samuels (43) and Denesh Ramdin (44*) also contributed in the end.
