WATCH: Ravi Shastri Defends Virat Kohli On Not Winning World Cup; Says The Former Captain Is An 'Ambassador Of The Game'
Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has always been criticized for not winning an ICC trophy in his tenure as a captain despite being one of the best batters of his generation. Recently, Kohli resigned from T20 captaincy, after which he was sacked from the ODI captaincy and then he resigned from his Test captaincy as well. Still, people raise questions about Virat Kohli's performance for the Indian cricket team. However, former coach Ravi Shastri has put all the critics to rest.
During a conversation with ANI, Shastri said, 'You guys start over-criticizing the player. Tell me, how many teams have been this consistent for so long? Many big players haven't managed to win a world cup, so that's not a criterion of judgement. Just because Kohli hasn't won a world cup doesn't mean he's a bad player.'
